Razais and Jaipuri wares, from Jaipur to your home.

Malhara sells textiles for the home, made by artisans in Jaipur and led by the razai, our cotton Jaipuri quilt. We sell from Britain, to homes in the UK and Europe.

razai

In Jaipur, a quilt.

If the word is new to you, that is all there is to it: a razai is a quilt for the bed. We keep the word because it is the name the piece goes by in the city where it is made. Ours are cotton.

More about the razai

The range

Four kinds of textile for the home, all made by artisans in Jaipur.

Razais

Cotton Jaipuri quilts, and the piece we lead with.

We tell you only what is true of each piece.

Every piece is described by its own facts: what it is, what it is made of and where it was made. If you could not check it, we do not say it. What we hold to

Seen in a real home.

Malhara has a sister, Malhara House: our family home in Jhotwara, Jaipur. It is a circular house clad in white marble, with a dome topped by a cupid statue, and it is opened for photography.

Our razais are used there. As our photographs arrive, we mean to show the pieces in use at the house, not styled in a studio.

For your home

You will want to know exactly what you are buying before it goes on your bed. Each listing says what the piece is, and leaves out anything we cannot show.

As a gift

A razai comes with a story you can pass on: the city it was made in, and the house where ours are used. We describe each piece only by what is true of it.
